I am always looking for ways to help our athletes help themselves, which is why I am really excited to get our "Restriction Series" started today. The last couple of weeks I have been working in collaboration with Oscar Andalon from KOR Physical Therapy to put together a simple and straight forward system for our athletes to assess and address their own restrictions. Please understand the human body is very complex and made up of so many moving pieces. This series can't encompass every possible issue, but it will give you some tools to assess and go after restrictions that can be holding you back or creating pain.
The "Restriction Series" will last four weeks with each week attacking a different section of the body starting with the shoulder and finishing with the ankle's in week 4. With each week, you will learn 1-2 simple ways to assess for restrictions coupled with 3-4 ways to attack these issues. We will be taking an entire week for each portion, so you really have an opportunity to commit this stuff to memory and develop routines to improve.
