"A Community that SWEATS Together, STAYS Together."

We want to provide a safe, encouraging, and positive environment for adults, kids, and athletes of all ages to learn, improve, and reach their health and fitness goals. Most importantly we want to be a place that people leave healthier and happier than when they walked in.

New Program at BCF: Women's Strength

We are proud to be offering the first-ever Women’s Strength program at BCF with Coach Jenn! Look for a signup sheet at the box later today!

"Women's Strength is about women empowering women. In an intimate setting athletes are coached to tap into that place from within where the pure, raw strength comes from.

An emphasis is placed on mental preparedness and eliminating distractions. No phones, kiddos or significant others - we're taking pen to paper here in our weight calculations and, giving ourselves an undistracted hour to better our minds, bodies and souls. Because that is what weightlifting can do for a woman -- it's more than just lifting weights. When we go internally to harness the physical strength, we are often surprised at the mental and emotional gains as well." - Coach Jenn

April Athlete of the Month-Hillary Demanett

There was absolutely NO QUESTION who was April's Athlete of the Month! Hillary is killing the CrossFit game! If you see her on Wodify, you notice shes a beast on the rower and bike, has cardio for days, and everyday is getting stronger in all her lifts. This past month, she achieved her 1st ever strict pull-up, followed by another 4! Completed the Crossfit Level 1 certification course, and had taken on the Kids Camps! I am constantly in awe of all she can do and excited to see where the next few years take her! Hillary, you are so deserving of this in every way! Welcome to the BCF team!

Tell us a little about yourself and family - Hobbies, interests, where you grew up, occupation, etc.

I grew up in Coos Bay, Oregon. Ive been married for 14 years and have 3 kids. 1 boy and 2 girls. Im a stay at home mom and Crossfit is my hobby 😄 I used to run marathons but quit when I discovered how much I love the weights and the community.

How did you hear about BCF and what made you want to join?

I heard about BCF when I googled “Crossfit gyms near me” and a groupon add popped up. I thought I’d try it out for a month. But then never left.

What are your goals? Personal, professional, and athletic?

My professional goal is to be the best kids coach I can be!! I hope they like me! As an athlete, I want to be Alise :) I want to get stronger, lift heavier, and enjoy the process along the way.

What is your favorite movement? Non-favorite movement?

I love wall balls and burpees! (Don’t hate me!) I'm also starting to love snatches! Oh and squat cleans. I don’t really care for deadlifts. They’re kind of boring. Guess I should work on that.

What is your proudest CF moment?

My proudest moment was FINALLY getting a pull-up. That’s something I’ve wanted to do my whole life.

What is one thing that people would be surprised to find out about you?

People might be surprised to know I was a caddy at Brandon Dunes gold resort. I once caddied for Michael Jordan.

What is your biggest motivation in life?

My biggest motivations in life are definitely my kids.

Biggest impact CrossFit has made in your life?

Oh gosh what hasn’t Crossfit done for me. It has completely changed my way of thinking when it comes to body image. It’s made me more confident in who i am and how I’m built. I’m seeing it in my girls and how they view themselves as well. They talk about how they want to be strong and healthy as they grow. It has also helped my son with his health issues and has put off any treatments or surgeries he may need, for now. It’s definitely the best decision we could have made for our family’s health and happiness.

BCF and our team is here to help, beginning with our Goal Setting seminars

We promise, you won’t leave without gaining some insight and valuable knowledge on how to help make your goal(s) a reality in more areas than just the gym!

So mark your calendar for this or the following weeks’ seminar, and dream a bit about what you might want out of the rest of this year.
*No 6:30pm CrossFit classes on these dates.

March 2018 Recap

March was excellent month at BCF for so many reasons! First and foremost,

New Athletes

BCF had the pleasure of welcoming six new athletes to our amazing community. Welcome Mikayla, Josh, Denise, Aleah & Brett, and Natalia!

Conclusion of the 2018 CrossFit Games Open

Five workouts in five weeks, and every year gets better and better! From the PRs to the blood, sweat and tears that were shed, we're so proud of the effort put in by our athletes and coaches this year. Thanks to all our athletes who attended Friday Night Lights to judge and/or cheer on our evening athletes, and to those who made it out to our celebratory events after week one, three and five. :)

BCF's First DōTERRA Class

DōTERRA's Deep Blue product was covered, as well as general information and education. If you missed it have no fear, BCF will be hosting a DōTERRA class the first Saturday of every month at 8am. Open to all and feel free to bring a friend! April's topic is allergies, and how essential oils can lessen and sometimes eliminate your allergy symptoms.

BCF Health

Be sure to join BCF's new public group on FaceBook called 'BCF Health' where we share information on health, wellness, products we use, recipes we love, etc.!

Housekeeping

As we strive to keep the facility organized and incident-free, please ensure no more than four barbell plates are on each bar at each plate station. Four for the 10's and 15's (top row) and three for the 25's and 45's (bottom row).

Also a friendly reminder, that unless a class is running over its hour time slot, please be respectful of your fellow athletes by waiting to break your equipment down until the last athlete has finished the workout.

New BCF Swag

We purchased some extra but very limited quantities of the latest apparel order. It will be on display and available for purchase sometime the first week of April. It is first-come first-serve, and please leave your payment on the clipboard in the office before taking the item(s) home.

First Ever BCF Athlete to Qualify for Regionals

From the Open, our very own Tyler Exline has qualified for Boys 14-15 CrossFit Online Qualifier. For those of you who don't know this is the Teen's CrossFit Regionals. Tyler will be competing in 4 workouts over April 18th - 23rd against the top 200 14-15 Teen Boys in the world. It is such an honor to be among these athletes competing, and we will be cheering for him in our home town box!
