Christmas Is Near!
"A Community that SWEATS Together, STAYS Together."
We want to provide a safe, encouraging, and positive environment for adults, kids, and athletes of all ages to learn, improve, and reach their health and fitness goals. Most importantly we want to be a place that people leave healthier and happier than when they walked in.

My favorite lifts are bench press and deadlift. My least favorite is probably squats.
What is your proudest CF moment?
My proudest CrossFit moment was when I hit 295lbs on my deadlift or when I climbed the rope for the first time.
What is one tip you would give someone who is interested in CrossFit or new to CrossFit?
Listen to the coach and don’t try to show off cause then you might hurt yourself.
Biggest impact CrossFit has made in your life?
November Athlete of the Month- Teri Braun
Tell us a little about yourself and family- Hobbies, interests, whereyou grew up, occupation, etc.
I grew up in Star, Idaho. It’s a small town just outside of Boise. I moved to Oregon in 1999 after I finished college because I always loved our family vacations out to the Oregon Coast. I’ve been married for 19 years and we have two boys, 14 and 17 years old. I teach English Language Development for the Banks School District and I work with incredible colleagues and students.
How did you hear about BCF and what made you want to join?
I had heard about BCF soon after we moved out to Banks, but a year of going to grad school while working full time took a serious toll on my body. I was ready to feel healthy again and MOVE! I had always been a fair weather exerciser and knew it would help me to have a place where people who knew a thing or two could guide me.
What motivates you to come to the box week after week?
The number of decisions people have to make in a day can be absolutely exhausting. I know that when I stick to a schedule I don’t lay in bed wavering on the decision to go or not. I get up, go, whine a bit during the workout, and feel great the rest of the day. Then hit repeat the next day.
What are your goals? Personal, professional, and/or athletic?
I don’t know if I would call it a goal but it’s very important to me to maintain a balance in my life. Prioritizing that balance between work, family and other obligations helps me set boundaries and feel healthy and recharged every week.
What is your favorite lift, movement or WOD? Least Favorite?
I do like most of the strength training aspects and the assault bike.
My least favorite(s) would have to be overhead squats, rope climbs or being upside down. I also have a love/hate relationship with Turkish get-ups because I know they will help me when I’m an 80 year old trying to get off the bathroom floor.
What is your proudest CF moment?
I have had some really great moments during Everyday Warrior of pushing myself past the point I thought I could. I also love the way the Exlines and the BCF community come together to give back and take care of others. I have seen it when supporting Damian, and the Rizzos and so many others. I’m glad I get to
be a part of a community like that.
What is one tip you would give someone who is interested in CrossFit or new to CrossFit?
I would say it’s important to come back the 2nd day and just keep taking those baby steps one day at a time. Change happens over time not overnight.
Biggest impact CrossFit has made in your life?
CrossFit/BCF is my sanity in the morning and takes me outside of my comfort zone on a daily basis. It starts my day off right with some pretty awesome people. I also know that if I get to live to 100 like I want to, I will be able to attribute that in part to all that I have learned from Crossfit.
