How did you hear about BCF and what made you want to join:
Emma:
My mom saw a Facebook post 8 years ago and thought it would be a good way to get me out of the house during the summer. I've been going ever since.
Blake:
My sister had been going and when I was old enough, I joined.
What motivates you to
come to the box week after week?
Emma:
Strength/stamina training for
sports.
Blake:
To get me in better shape for cross country and to try and beat my sister.
What are your goals? Personal, professional, and/or
athletic?
Emma:
A personal and athletic goal I have
is to prove to others I am better and stronger than the perceptions and stereotypes
others have of me.
Blake:
I want to be an engineer and a
filmmaker.
What is your favorite
lift, movement or WOD? Least Favorite?
Emma:
My favorite movement/lift would
have to be the back or box squat because it shows both my arm and leg strength.
I don’t have a least favorite.
Blake:
Favorite: Back squat/box squat- I can do the most
weight on this lift
Least Favorite: Strict overhead press- it is hard!
What is your proudest
CF moment?
Emma:
My proudest movement is the back or
box squat because that the area I can lift the most in. Back squat I can lift 250 and 260 in box
squat.
Blake:
When I lifted 155lbs on the dead
lift
What is one tip you
would give someone who is interested in CrossFit or new to CrossFit?
Emma:
Don’t go into something
overconfident because you can be disappointed with the results in the end. Just try your hardest.
Blake:
Relax and have fun! The people there are nice and will welcome
you.
Biggest impact CrossFit
has made in your life?
Emma:
Over the past 8 years of being here
it has built up my strength in both arms and legs to help me pursue more with
my sports and just in everyday life with being more helpful to my family
members. They make me carry heavy stuff
for them.
Blake:
Helped me with Cross country and shot put
