WHAT IS GYMNASTICS?
Gymnastics in CrossFit is used to describe movements without an external load (i.e. air squat, push-up, pull-up, etc.). Gymnastics, when performed properly, will have a huge impact on your fitness and will improve the way you lift weights. 

THE IMPORTANCE OF GYMNASTICS


If we take a look at the Theoretical Hierarchy of Development, you will see that we have to lay a solid foundation of gymnastics before we can add an external load (deadlift, snatch, clean, etc.). If we don’t learn to move our own bodyweight properly, we are setting ourselves up for risk of injury.




In this 8 week course, Ally and Trevor will help build that solid foundation we all need. We will help fine-tune your technique, teach proper movement patterns and efficiency through the primary movements (as seen below), as well as build your core, and your pushing and pulling strength.


PRIMARY MOVEMENTS
        All of the movements we will focus on in this Course are progressive movements, meaning every movement leads to a different one.

   -Hollow Holds and Arch Holds
- Pull-ups lead to Muscle-ups

   - T2B lead to Ball-ups

 -H.S. Hold leads to HSPU and H.S. Walk       
   - Push-ups lead to Ring Dips

    SCHEDULE:
    Start Date:August 22nd
     End Date: October 14th
    Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm
    Saturdays at 9am 
   [Tuesdays and Thursdays will be in-class sessions, and Saturdays are designed for you to complete your 'homework' for that week either at BCf or at home.]
