Teen Athlete of the Month- Sohpia Duyck


Tell us a little about yourself and family- Hobbies, interests, where you grew up, occupation, etc.


a junior at Jesuit and I was raised in forest grove my entire life. I swam competitive for 10 years, but now I just swim for my high school. I enjoy playing guitar, I love to go on hikes and I love to play with hair.



How did you hear about BCF and what made you want to join?



My brother and dad started to do CrossFit fall of 2019 and I joined like early spring of 2020? I joined because I recently stopped doing club swimming but I still wanted a challenge in working out, so I started to go to CrossFit with my family. 

What motivates you to come to the box week after week?


I would say what motivates me to come every week is the feeling that I get after working out, I just feel so refreshed and I feel happier when I do go workout.

What are your goals? Personal, professional, and/or athletic?


Man I’m not sure, my goals are mainly to go to college and to find something that I’m passionate about and pursue it.

What is your favorite lift, movement or WOD? Least Favorite?


Ok so my favorite WOD I don’t really have like a number one but I really like the wods that are almost like circuits, like you run, do push-ups, run again, do a lift (stuff like that). My favorite lift is honestly a front squat.

What is your proudest CF moment?


Honestly I don’t think I have reached my proudest CF moment because I haven’t like reached it yet.


What is one tip you would give someone who is interested in CrossFit or new to CrossFit?


My tip for anyone who want to join is to go into it with an open mind and to just do your best.

Biggest impact CrossFit has made in your life?


The biggest impact CF has had on my life is putting routine back into my life.
